Starter Question:
Tell about one of your favorite dates ever.
(If you’re with your spouse, make sure your story is of a date with them!)
How did it go with what you decided to do last week? Which practice did you decide to try?
Or what happened with your “I will…” statement?

Video Discussion Questions
Have you ever had the affirming experience of being pursued by someone who loves you in a way that breathed life into you? Share the story with your group.
What might be your biggest fear or caution of letting God get that close… close enough to fill you and live his life through you?
Discovery Bible Study: Acts 1:4-8
Read Acts 1:4-8 out loud. Then have someone repeat the story in their own words.
- What do we learn about the God/Holy Spirit from this passage?
- What do we learn about people or us from this passage?
- What do you sense God saying to you from this passage?
- What do you sense God asking you to do in response?
- Who could you share this story (or what you've learned from it) with?
Pray:
Consider breaking into groups of 2 or 3 and pray for each other.
Or have a minute or 2 of silent prayer and listening. Then have someone close out in prayer.
Practices:
In addition to your "I will..." statement that you felt like God prompted, consider trying one of these practices this week.
Mild: Sip Prayer
- Cue: every time you take a drink.
- Pray: “Come, Holy Spirit, fill me & lead me.”
- Name the thirst: whisper one or two words you need (peace, healing, courage, wisdom, help for kid)
Medium:
- If you don't already have a set daily time to spend alone with God, pick a time and put it on your calendar.
- Once you're there, start off with a song or a Psalm to center your mind on Jesus.
- After that simply say, "Holy Spirit fill me." Then sit and wait.
- Whatever happens next, whether a thought or an experience or what feels like nothing at all, then thank Holy Spirit for filling you, trusting that he has said "YES" and answered your prayer. (Luke 11:9-13)
Hot: Listen & Respond
- Set aside quiet time to listen to God.
- Ask Him to bring someone to mind and give an impression, Scripture, or encouragement for that person.
- If fitting, tell them (text/call/drop by) that they were on your heart and humbly share the encouragement you felt like you received for them.
