Watermark Gathering RSVP Update

Happy Spring Watermark faith family and friends!

As you may know, the CDC and our governor provided guidance that vaccinated people can go without wearing masks in most indoor gathering settings. This is an encouraging sign and fills us with hope as we look to the future.

This new guidance prompted our staff and lead team to talk through possible changes that can take place immediately along with things that should continue. As a result we are removing our mask requirement for our gatherings but recommend everyone continue to follow the CDC’s guidelines.

However, children under 12 can not be vaccinated and therefore, Surf City kids and leaders will continue to follow our mask protocols while inside. In addition, we will continue to distance the chairs in the gathering space.

I have been proud of how Watermarkers have responded with grace and cared for others in the midst of this pandemic. Let us continue to offer grace and space for one another in this new season. Some of us may feel more comfortable wearing a mask. Others of us may not be able to be vaccinated for health reasons. Still others will be excited to run up and start hugging people. So, let’s have a posture of love and consider one another as we move forward.

I, along with the majority of our staff & lead team, have been fully vaccinated, so I don’t plan on wearing a mask. But if I approach someone and they would feel more comfortable for me to wear a mask, I’ll have one in my pocket to put on.  Philippians 2:4 encourages us saying, “Instead of each person watching out for their own good, watch out for what is better for others.”

May Jesus be the center of our lives together and may He lead us into this new season and bring healing and hope.
